How it all started...

SD Worx was founded in Belgium in 1945 as a direct consequence of the post-war chaos and restoration period. Companies thrived, but company administration became increasingly complex and sizeable. There was clearly a need for a company that offered Social Services, as they were known at the time. Our basic philosophy and a trace of our old name in the acronym SD can still be found in our name today: SD Worx.

During the early years of SD Worx – between 1945 and 1955 – it was mainly the small companies which made use of the services of the certified social secretariat. At the end of the 1950s, in line with the booming economy, the rising number of clients, and the increasingly complex social legislation, a decision was made to automate writing and calculations. In 1965, SD Worx was the first certified social secretariat to introduce a computer. Thanks to this automation clients received more information faster. At the same time, this step offered new potential to attract more and bigger companies. From 1975 onwards, SD Worx’s offer was expanded and diversified into HR affairs, in the broadest sense.

Today...

Today SD Worx is the third largest payroll service provider in Europe, with offices in The Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, and in Germany. Our ambition is to become the market leader for qualitative HR services throughout the European market.
