GDPR Webinar: GDPR: Dealing with the data rights of your employees

-Reading time: 3 Minutes
GDPR Webinar_ GDPR_ Dealing with the data rights of your employees

In the upcoming webinar, titled ‘GDPR: Dealing with the data rights of your employees’ and brought to you by SD Worx and global law firm DLA Piper, HR professionals can learn about data subject rights ahead of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is the first in a series of GDPR guidance webinars to be launched in the run up to May next year.

Once GDPR has taken effect from 25th May 2018, any business that holds the personal data of EU individuals, wherever they are based in the world, will need to be compliant. With the deadline now just six months away, it’s essential that HR professionals understand exactly how data rights are changing under the regulation.

If organisations fail to implement changes to their organisations by the deadline, they risk facing hefty fines of up to 4% of total annual revenue (in addition to damaged business reputation). However, by learning about the changes that need to take place in the HR industry, HR professionals are much more likely to be compliant by the deadline.
In the webinar, Gert Beeckmans, Chief Risk & Security Officer at SD Worx, and Laurent De Surgeloose, Lead Lawyer at DLA Piper, will help you to answer the following:

  •  What are the data rights of your employees?
  •  What are the most important changes with GDPR for HR?

Once these important questions have been addressed, Gert and Laurent will explore key actions that HR professionals need to take, including suggestions around: explaining the rights to your workers in plain language; enforcing obligations of workers; and preparing yourself to demonstrate compliance.
In addition, you will learn from practical HR cases based on:

  • Request for erasure after dismissal
  • Request for access or correction with bad performance evaluation
  • Employee objects to processing
