SD Worx Romania appoints Bogdan Mircea Ciobanu as Managing Director to lead its next phase of growth

SD Worx Romania, part of the leading European HR, Pay and Time solutions provider SD Worx, announces the appointment of Bogdan Mircea Ciobanu as Managing Director, effective November 2, 2026. Bogdan Ciobanu will lead SD Worx Romania into its next stage of development, with a focus on strengthening the company’s position in the local market, further developing its solutions, and creating new opportunities for customers and employees. Bogdan will directly report to Patrick Barazzoni, Executive Vice-President at SD Worx and responsible for Central and Southern Europe.
The appointment comes at an important moment for SD Worx Romania. Following the company’s integration into the SD Worx group and the completion of a significant transformation process, the local organisation is now entering a new phase focused on consolidation, sustainable growth and continued alignment with SD Worx’s European strategy.
Bogdan Mircea Ciobanu brings more than 17 years of senior executive experience across IT, software, cybersecurity and telecommunications in Romania and South-Eastern Europe. Most recently, as Country Manager of Exclusive Networks Romania, he led the business through a period of sustained double-digit growth. His previous leadership roles include General Manager at SABS and Regional Manager for South-Eastern Europe at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, where he coordinated activities across seven countries. He brings a strong track record in P&L management, team building, market expansion and digital transformation, together with a keen interest in harnessing AI to accelerate business performance.
Building on a strong foundation
As Managing Director, Bogdan Ciobanu will work closely with the Romanian leadership team and SD Worx’s European organisation to build on the progress achieved in recent years, while continuing to support Romanian employers with innovative and reliable local HR and payroll solutions.
The new leadership brings fresh momentum and perspective to SD Worx Romania, while ensuring continuity for its customers, employees and partners.
Important market for SD Worx
Bogdan Ciobanu succeeds Ciprian Chiorean, who is stepping down as Managing Director after successfully completing the transformation mandate he undertook since he joined the company. Ciprian started his journey with SD Worx in May 2023, as an Advisor.
During his tenure, Ciprian led the transition from Romanian Software to SD Worx Romania, overseeing the company’s rebranding, its further integration into the SD Worx group and the consolidation of the local team. Having completed this chapter, he will take a sabbatical before deciding on his next professional endeavour.
In the coming weeks Ciprian will take the time for a solid handover to Bogdan, who will start his role as Managing Director as from 2 November 2026.
